Meet Dr. Wesley Parker, II, DDS, MD
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Bermuda Run, Clemmons, Statesville, Elkin and Winston Salem areas, NC.
Dr. Parker is a board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and a native of North Carolina. Dr. Parker obtained his bachelor’s degree in both Biology and Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He graduated with Highest Distinction and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa – the nation’s oldest and most prestigious undergraduate honor society. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. As a dental student, Dr. Parker also won the AAOMS Dental Student Achievement Award, the AAOMP Dental Student Achievement Award, and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon – the national dental honor society. He went on to graduate first in his class, with Honors.
Dr. Parker then went on to obtain his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, in conjunction with his residency training in Pittsburgh. After completing an intern year in General Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Dr. Parker finished his residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery through the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and School of Dental Medicine. During his training, Dr. Parker received extensive exposure to the spectrum of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, including dentoalveolar (tooth extractions) surgery, third molar (wisdom teeth) surgery, preprosthetic surgery, management of medically compromised patients, intravenous and general anesthesia, pediatric oral and maxillofacial surgery, major and minor bone grafting, soft tissue and skin grafting, sinus lift surgery, obstructive sleep apnea surgery, maxillofacial reconstructive surgery, dental implant surgery, treatment of oral and maxillofacial pathology, facial trauma surgery, and orthognathic (corrective jaw) surgery.
After many years away, Dr. Parker returned to his home state of North Carolina to join Dr. Biggerstaff. He often volunteers at the NC Missions of Mercy free dental clinics. In his spare time, he enjoys a number of outdoor activities, cooking, movies, and spending time with his wife and kids.
